HNDIT

In 2000, SLIATE started the HNDIT with the objective of producing the middle level IT professionals required for the new millennium. The quality of technical education (or any education system) depends on many factors but largely on outcome based socially and industrially relevant curriculum, good quality motivated faculty, teaching learning process, effective industry internship and evaluation of students based on desired outcomes.

At the end of the diploma the student will be able to:

• Function as a software developer.
• Train personals in IT skills.
• Use IT skills in the area of automation.
• Make use of IT skills in decision making in an organization.

Entry Qualifications

• The course aims at school leavers with GCE (A/L) qualifications in Mathematics, Science, Accountancy, Technology, and Arts streams.
• Candidate should have simple pass for English and Mathematics in G.C.E (O/L).

Candidates are selected through the order of merit in their GCE (A/L) examination and through an aptitude / IQ test.

Course Duration

The course duration consists of four academic semesters and a final six-month internship, covered over a period of two and a half calendar years.

Academic activities are held during the first four semesters; after the completion of the 2-year academic program, students follow industrial training under NAITA supervision for 6 months.

The duration of each semester is 15 weeks.
